This webcam view is from the main floor of our rental home in Hafrsfjord, a suburb of Stavanger, Norway, on the southwest coast of Norway. The entire Stavanger region has about 180,000 population.
Our house is located about 75m above sea level on a hill rising above the north shore of Hafrsfjord. Stavanger sits at the end of a long, north-trending peninsuala, and Hafrsfjord stretches inland into that peninsula from a point west of us on the North Sea. The house is located in the Grannes just west of the University of Stavanger and east of the famous 'Three Swords' monument.
This view is in an approximately southern direction, showing the houses in the Grannes neighbourhood, Hafrsfjord, Stavanger Sola airport and in the distance, above the islands, the North Sea. Often oil tankers and other cargo vessels can be seen on the horizon. Wind surfers can often be seen on the nearest portions of Hafrsfjord.
